Case Study Three

Several years ago, I purchased a set of British World War One medals on a whim, intending to trace the soldier’s family history and, if possible, return the medals to his modern-day relatives.

Sadly, his direct family line had long since ended, but I continued exploring his ancestry. To my surprise, I eventually discovered that the soldier and I shared a distant ancestor — we were, in fact, distant cousins.
